BDP1500

Reviews of the BD-P1500 Samsung

Below are a selection of reviews of the BD-P1500 blu-ray dvd player.

Review One

"I have had my BD-P1500 for three days now, and so far I'm really pleased with it.

Setting it up was really simple. The necessary video leads are included, but not an HDMI cable, so if you need one of them and don't have a spare you best order it separately.

I must admit to be a little dubious that blu-ray would be significantly different from normal DVD, especially as I wear glasses. How wrong could I be! Blu-ray really is quite amazing. So far I've used my BD-P1500 to watch two films and the image clarity was superb.

I only thing I did find the first time that I tried to use it was that it refused to play any discs at all. But after a good old turn off and back on again the BDP1500 was fine and hasn't done it again. So just one of those glitches I guess.

One other thing seems a bit strange on the BD-P1500 - the information panel shows the time elapsed but not the total time. I don't know if that's a blu-ray thing or just a feature of this model of blu-ray dvd player."

Review Two

"We got our BD-P1500 as part of a bundle with a Samsung HD LCD TV, as just another gadget to play with really. We did briefly consider the BD-P1400 but plumped for the new model in the end. I ordered a few discs, and we were really impressed with the quality of the picture. Normal DVDs just aren't the same now. My only gripe is that isn't multi region so I can't play some of my old DVDs on it, so we have had to keep the old dvd player as well.

The BDP1500 was incredibly easy to set up, the true definition of plug and play. In fact having originally bought this for the lounge and hoped that it would fit the bill, it exceeded our expectations so much that within an hour we went back online and bought another one for the bedroom.

I don't know how many people end up buying a BD-P1500 twice but we certainly have no complaints."

Review Three

"Owned my BD-P1500 for a few weeks now and am very happy with it. Have watched 'I am Legend' and 'Batman Begins' and they were both fantastic. I was amazed how big a jump in quality there was compared to a normal DVD. I don't know why, but I just didn't expect the jump to be so big.

The BDP1500 is very easy to set-up, once plugged in via HDMI it knew that my TV was 1080i resolution - how clever. The loading up time is quick by normal blu-ray standards as well.

I haven't up-scaled one of my normal DVDs yet but to be honest with blu-ray being so good I can't imagine many normal DVDs going in this player!

Just one word of warning - if you need an HDMI cable then buy one as the BDP1500 does not come with one."
